Download Application
Please start by using the latest version of either SabNZBd+ or NZBGet. Both of these applications have built in support for embedded passwords.
Finding the password
From the post
If you use one of the above applications and still need to find the password, go to the post you downloaded from and look for the "View NFO" link in the post.

By clicking this, you'll get more information about the download. In 'most' cases, the password will be written at either the top or bottom of this section. If the password isn't listed, continue reading.
Embedded in Link
If the NZB file you downloaded is named something like Test NZB 2023 1080p HEVC {{nzbforyou}}.nzb then the information between the {{ and }} is the password.
Checking NZB File
Do one of the following:
- You can right click on the
*.nzbfile and select "Open with" in the context menu.- You can select any text editor like Notepad, Atom, Pulsar, Sublime, Vim, etc.
- Open Notepad (or other text editor), than drag and drop the
*.nzbfile onto that window.- This will not work in all text editors
You'll see a bunch of 'junk' that you don't have to worry about, but this is called XML and you're looking for something that should be somewhere between line 4 and 6 or so that looks like the following:
As you can see in the above case, line 5: <meta type="password">nzb4you</meta> and the password is listed here in white/gray text.
Notepad will not provide the colored text you see in the screenshot, but the code itself will be valid.
Last Resort
If you have done all of the above and still need help with the password, please, go to the original post where you downloaded the *.nzb file and post in THAT thread that you're having trouble. After making that post, click the "!" button to "Report" the post so it notifies us that something is wrong. See Site Reporting for more information.
Warning
Do not post in the chat on the main page or in any other topic about the request.
